The Marines had fixed bunkers, we overhead coconut logs with sandbags. And that was a real thick jungle down in the, down in the jungle. They had about, you know, 75 to 100 yards if that cut out in front of the thick jungle. So what the fire lines would do, they knew that the Japanese using the infiltration techniques especially in that thick jungle at night with the Japanese loved attack,. You know, and try to channel them.
