How to Screen for Vertigo

Emergency physicians need to slow down, make sure we're doing the right test for the right people. Vertigo is better with central causes than peripheral causes. Diplopia, dysarthria, dysphagia, dysphonia are all red flags that could be a stroke. If you have vertigo or dizziness, your pretest probability of it being true isolated vertigo is very low.
