I ran this proposal, something like a manhattan project for climate change past nathan mervald. I'm pretty confident that the math and science we would teach would be much more interesting than torturing high schoolers with trigonometry. Any educated person should know what basian reasoning is - or making a decision under uncertainty in a way that trades off harm of false alarms with the harm of missus. If it's a choice between trigonometry and conditional probability, it's just obvious what kinds of mathematics have the greatest impact....
