The Fed's Attempt to Get Inflation Down to Target Range of 2%
The unemployment rate in the US decreased slightly to a reading of 3.6% in June, which is lower than their May's seven month high of 3.7%. The jobless rate has fluctuated between 3.4% and 3.7% since March of 2022. This is giving the Fed the wriggle room that they need to continue raising rates as a means of combating inflation. Consumer sentiment now and we saw the University of Michigan consumer sentiment for the US was revised lower to aReading of 71.6 in July from a preliminary reading of 72.6. We are seeing it is summers in full swing over there and so that sentiment could also be lifting on the back of that
