Doctors Are Stressed, Underpaid, Don't Have Any Time

Science has established this relationship between stress and a physical outcome, but the medical world aren't acting upon that. A study of medical students show that the highest level of empathy for physicians occurs when they just begin their training. So medical training is very stressed, so often traumatic. And physicians are not expected to take any time for their own mental, physical health. They've taught nothing about trauma and its highly demonstrated impact on the physiology of illness.
