The Disadvantages of Race Conscious Policies
The line between so-called race conscious policies and race neutral policies is very porous. The top 10% policy at the University of Texas existed because George W. Bush wanted more black people to be admitted there. There are already lawsuits against elite charter schools that take students from every school in their feeder system. It went up to the Supreme Court, the Supreme Court sent it back down to lower courts.
