Seers used its considerable marketing savy to make it clear that building your house was going to be easy. With a predesigned home, you didn't need an architect, and with the pre cut lumber frame, you didn’t need a carpenter either. Seers even had this add in the font of the catalogue. It showed two rhodesca models, one of seer's most popular houses, being built side by side. One was built from scratch, essentially, using ordinary building materials and uncut stick lumber, the other with pre cut lumber. You could treat it like any other consumer item. And consumers obliged.
