In 1921, Dr. Frederick Banting was the first person to isolate secretions from islit cells, the cells that make insulin. He came up with a plan to tie up the pancreatic ducts of laboratory dogs and make their pancreas as overproduced the cells that contain insulin until everything else in the pancreas dies. Today, we're going to talk about why there is no cheap generic insulin available in the United States.
