The Future of Social Media in the Battle of Ideas
I'm more increasingly worried about the tensions between China and the US, but you talk about how some of this technology goes anti-democracies. I think there are some topics in which we cooperate, but surveillance is not one of them. Many of us were convinced that this kind of social media could have a very pro-democracy impact. I don't think that's generally experienced around the world right now. It's been co-opted by authoritarian governments. And of course, they can cut themselves off from the internet. They can cut itself off from Western social media platforms. Russia has done more of that. China obviously has the Great Firewall. We're going to take more actions
