How to Deal With Uncomfortable Internal Triggers
Most people, when they feel these uncomfortable internal triggers, they blame or they shame, ok? The blamers blame things outside themselves. Shaming also doesn't work. What does work is claiming responsibility for your reaction to your feelings. Most people don't understand that you do not control your feelings. You don't control your urges. All you can control is how you respond to those feelings and urges. So one a routine that i follow is using this technique called surfing the urge. This comes from acceptance of commitment therapy. And basely, what you're going to do is yor you're not going to use strict abstinence. It turns out that abstinence oftentimes backfires.
