Bennett's Theory of the Sarmon
Bennett tried terribly hard I mean Bennett did take it literally and he put an enormous amount of time and effort into trying to identify the Sarmon. He even says at the start of might be meetings with remarkable and he says the west doesn't know how to read allegorically. It seems to be clear that it was really never intended to be to be taken as literally true this now Bennett's travels through Turkey and Syria meeting real sofis.
