The Importance of Mutual Respect in the Community
"There's just this mutual respect with everyone who is a part of the community or who loves to do that activity," she says. "I remember skateboarding with Christian Asoi in the early 90s before he had his troubles, but like, it was just like, oh my God, this guy is like, just coming through his shirts hanging off his pants." She also recalls being sponsored by Black Flies during an era when they were making sunglasses too.
