Amir Al-Mulminin: The Commander of the Believers

Omar radiAllahu ta'ala Anhu's grandmother Ashifah was one of the first women to make the hijra. He would frequent her on his way to the marketplace, and she told him about Amir al-Mulminin. Omar wrote a letter to a governor in Iraq asking for two men so that he could ask them about Iraq and its people. So they sent Labid ibn Rabiyyah and Adi  Uhatim who entered into the Masjid at Medina. They asked Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam: Can you seek permission from AmirAlmulminin for us to enter upon him?
