The Psychological Impact of Individualization
When society sends people particular messages about who they are, sometimes a person really internalizes them. I have questions about the psychological impact of this kind of individualization. You can imagine a society in which certain people just continue to do badly in certain areas of personalization and this becomes their life. It's not necessarily a source for change or improvement. And so it may be that the inducements that we get to shape our behavior would also be personalized. We need to make that commitment, I think.
