Each step is going to represent a million years in history as we go up towards the present. We have 199 million years of Yorkshire coast geology we can do each step as a million years. So 16 would take us up 16 million years, so 183 million years ago - when most of these Whitby fossils were forming. What would the Jurassic Seas like at this point? This layer is a time when the climate really does start to get unpleasant. It sounds like a bad place to be standing. Shall we continue our way up!
