Introduction

The ninth Berlin Biennale included the who's who of the post-Internet glitterati. The election of Donald Trump that fall, assisted by meme warfare visibly waged on social media, a vote in even more conservative backlash from German critics. Now, six years later, post-Internet artists are back in Berlin, with simultaneous solo shows opening across the city. With John, we investigate what changed, what stayed the same, and what may still be to come from post-Internet art in an unquestionably post-Internet world.
