The Threat of Language Misuse

The English language itself is creaking under the strain of a sustained barrage of abuse. What's needed is a much greater focus on linguistic integrity. We have to rebalance things and children need to learn that language, far from being a plaything, is a shared responsibility, a sacred trust. You simply can't dedicate years to studying Milton's beautiful poetry, unless you have a passion for the English language.
