Grenoble parliament had outright called the may edicts illegal, and so brienne ordered them exiled from the city. Soldiers were despatched in small groups to establish a presence, but told to fire on the demonstrators. When they actually started getting hit, it was much too much, and they started firing into the crowd. This, of course, only confirmed to everyone in the city that they were indeed under attack. And they rang the toxin bells, which drew in even more men and women from the country side. But after peeking with ta good old fashioned ransacking of an official's house, the demonstrators, slash rioters, started to naturally disperse as the sunset
