I would make sure that people in the start up have clearly defined rolls and objectives, so that they're not ambiguously kind of competing for the same things. I think i personally saw a little bit of that with zappos, ind the downtown project. In their implementation of hilocrasy down were like, there's no more titles. It's just kind of a freef for all. Led to some real rivalry an some problems there. And i actually would put some guard rails on rivalry by giving people more clearly defined tasks.
