Is the Pencil 2 on the iPad Pro a Good Idea?

This iPad only works with the first generation Apple Pencil from seven years ago and it requires an adapter and a cable. Is there enough space for the Pencil 2 to fit on the short side of the iPad 10th generation? That I don't know. It's amazing to me this is what this is one of those hardware things that goes back to the very first iPad when the iPad was very much oriented in portrait mode.
