The Role of Dopamine in Pain
Evidence suggests dopamine, one of the neurotransmitters busted in ADHD, is also involved in how we feel pain. An example of this research was in patients with Parkinson's disease, not ADHD, but a disease where dopamine levels are reduced. On top of this painful clinical conditions like the horrible sounding burning mouth syndrome, fibromyalgia, restless leg syndrome, are thought to be linked to abnormalities in dopaminergic neurotransmission.
