The Doctrine of Divine Simplicity
i think historically, there really is no such thing as the doctrine divine simplicity. It represents some theists a and comes most fully to expression in the work of thomas aquinas. i count myself a classical theist, even though i don't hold to this strong doctrine of divine simplicity. I agree that god's not made of parts that might fall apart. But that doesn't commit me to theses like god has no potentials or properties. Those strong affirmations go way, way beyond what i think most us would want to affirm about divine simplicity.
