Milton's Version of Paradise Lost
Milton's version of the story is particularly gripping because fascinating and to some extent it's a little bit like what I try to argue in the sort of which is that something actually happened in the Renaissance. A certain kind of reality was conferred upon the figures of Adam and Eve that caused tremendous problems for the story. The brilliance of Paradise Lost is bound up with the fact that Milton's trying to imagine what Adam and Eve's marriage was like in Paradise before the fall.
