The Reluctance of People to Challenge Presidents
In 1979, Edward Kennedy was up 30 points over Carter in the polls. It's when he lost those primaries and should have recognized that taking it all the way to the convention would be very destructive. I think that example probably will dissuade anybody from challenging Biden in the primaries because it did go so badly for the Democrats.
