The idea that everything is going to change for no particular reason doesn't really make a lot of sense in the real world. Value stocks tend to perform better in inflationary environments than other kinds of stocks. Commodities tend to do well consistently in inflationary environment. And so you should not be looking at correlation numbers as the main characteristic of these asset classes.
