The Scope of the Bible
Luke states his purpose for writing in the beginning. He wants all who are lovers of God with him to have certainty concerning the things he has been taught. Whatever you read in the gospel of Luke, it's intended by its author to support this point. John does the same thing. When John says I've written to you so that you might believe in John 2030 and 31, he gives the theme of his epistle, I'm sorry, his gospel. To read the gospel of John recognizing that that's the primary focus of what he's doing.
