The Shadow of Baby Care in Nairobi
Sabrina and her team estimate that there is 4,000 of these baby care centers in Nairobi's urban informal settlements. We just don't know where they are or how they exist because they operate in the shadows. Sabrina talked to mothers who constantly had to take time off work to look after their children who fell ill at these places. These are anywhere from a few months old to three to four years of age in a 10 foot by 10 foot corrugated metal shack without much stimulation or much learning going on.
