The Importance of Taste in Science

Taste and flavor intersect with many, many different disciplines. In some ways no discipline claimed them except sensory biology. And so ecologists like me assume somebody else was doing it. But I think the other piece is that it relates to pleasure. Often scientists find pleasure to be a little bit too whimsical or not serious enough.
