Interest paid on premium bonds goes into a prize fund. Every month's numbers are drawn at random and if your number is pulled out, you win anything from 25 pounds to one million pounds. From the june draw next week, the rate of interest that goes into the prize fund is being raised from one to one point four%. So there'll be more money for prizes. And the odds of win have improved. Each bond now has one chance in 24 thousand 500 of winning in the monthly drawer. But people with minimum 100 pounds will still wait 20 years before they can expect to win.
