In 2010, there were about 40 black owned banks in all the US. By 2019, that had dropped to 16 and they only had net assets of $5 billion. The average net worth of a white family is about $171,000 while an African American family is $17,000. There's a tremendous inequity there. And a huge part of that has to do with homeownership.
