Privacy Laws in Europe
The first national privacy law, i think, was wee sweden, 19 74. The main difference between european and also some african and asian countries is that privacy is regarded as a fundamental right. In the us, it is still seen as a consumer right. That is also why, in all these laws, it is the consumer privacy. It is the consumer, and not the individual or the data subject.
