The Battle of Concha Reata

The battle of mipu was fought in 1818 between the patrio vieha and the royalist army. General o'higgins led a division that lost about 17 hundred men to the enemy. But despite what felt like the inevitable fall of santiago, the defeat at concereata was not as bad as it looked. A surprisingly large number of troops made it back to the city unhurt and uncaptured. Then five days after the battle, supreme dictator ohiggins himself finally arrived back in town.
