Drones have gotten this reputation mainly through the talking points of US politicians as being scalpel-like. But that's actually not true in reality, and they are highly imperfect technologies because ultimately those technologies are controlled by human beings. The intelligence that is used prior to launching drone strikes is highly imperfect as well as the breadth of the strike itself.
