Why Would Anyone Write a History of the Post Office?
David Frum: Why would anyone want to write a history of public? He says it's considered by one of his Harvard professors as the worst possible dissertation topic. "I got interested in bureaucratic fatalism for personal reasons," he says, and wrote about how bureaucracy worked. The post office was an important part of U.S. society before telephone telegraphs were invented.
