The Cave of the Bats

Hundreds of bats call this place home. There are nine species of bats, two species of swiftlets, and even sea turtles that feed in the area. Your guide explains how the bats use a method called echolocation to get around in the dark. Echolocation means to see with sound. The bats send out a high frequency pulse of sound which is reflected off solid objects in the environment. By listening for the reflections of their sound, they create a picture of the environment in their minds.
