What's the Equivalent in a Data Analysis?

The hard part is coming up with the alternatives, right? So imagining what the alternatives might have been. And then let's talk about reasons about why they didn't do it this way. I mean, I like that as like a classroom exercise. There's all these analyses that are out there, but we never use them when we teach data analysis because it's not clear what is the appropriate method to critique an analysis.
