The Importance of Adapting the Book

The first race wasn't even in the book. It was just kind of this random thing that he stumbled upon. But there was more in the book, like he went to school inside the Oasis. The movie skips over a lot of that. He seems almost as good as Artemis from the start. I mean, we're given like 15 minutes of exposition from his voice. Yes. And it just makes him like, he's kind of cool? He's kind of good. He knows what he's doing and has a secret knowledge over everybody else.
