The Failure of the American Ethic

The American ethic of pulling yourself up by the bootstraps has been exported to a lot of the world. I really think that there is at least one form of exercise out there, or one sport out there, that everyone would actually like doing - even if they weren't very good at it. You can like doing something that you're not good at, but you're still going to something out of your comfort zone. It's so detrimental to self efficacy when you're comparing yourself to others.
