William O. Douglas was Theodore Roosevelt Korean Cardinal. He hiked 186 miles to save the C&O canal outside of Washington, D.C., and we saved some of that canal. Douglass wrote two gorgeous books called My Wilderness about his favorite spots east of the Mississippi River and one on the West. Rachel Carson's Silent Spring transcends her book because she becomes the person who really stands up for environmental issues.
