Prostitution is the greatest triumph of puritanism. The only remedy puritanism offers for this ill begotten child is greater repression and more merciless persecution. Puritanism refuses to see that venereal diseases ar not a mysterious or terrible thing but an ordinary disease which may be treated and cured by its methods of obscurity, disguise and concealment. Its bigotry is again most strikingly demonstrated in regard to the great discovery of professor erlick, hypocrisy,. veiling the important cure for syphilis with vague allusions to a remedy for a certain poison.
