The Bank of England's Survey of Private Sector Wages
Donald Hansen: The big surprise in these numbers was wage growth unchanged at 6.6%. Why hasn't that come down? That's a really good question, and I think the reason is because of the influence of the tightness of the labor market. And we're waiting for inflation data due out tomorrow then, Dan. We expect that to come down from 10.4 down to single-day 9.8. But all of this in the context of the wage story where private sector wages are up by, what, 6.9%, public sector, 5.3%.
