Despite how important they were, Sylvia and Marsha started a trans rights NGO that basically saved street kids. They both died destitute. That's part of their legacy as well is that like there was never any infrastructure to reward them for what they did. Look at somebody like Craig Rodwell, who, you know, white, young, conventionally attractive, he starts a bookstore. He ends up basically living a middle class life.
