The Sunk Cost Fallacy in Economics
In economics, there's this idea called the sunk cost fallacy. A sum cost is really a cost that you've already paid. This can be very easily translated into time or effort or attention as well. And we just keep trying to follow through with something only because we've already invested all this time or money,. It kind of feels like we're losing something byy giving it up.
