The Relationship Between History and Faith
I want to talk a little bit about the lationship between history and faith. Many people in the church began with spiritual foundations. They had conversion experiences, epi odes of contact with some revoltory source. Yet find themselves being disaffected, falling away. This strikes me because i've often wondered, why? How did we get to the point that joseph smith becomes the centrepiece of our faith? Lutherans don't have to believe in luther or his story, right? Calvinists don't need to believe in john calvino.
