Cronkeite showed photos of the main players against a dramatic black background. It was by far the most exposure the watergate conspiracy had received up to that point. The 19 72 election ended with a historically lop sided victory for richard nixon. He took every state but massachusetts, and he won the popular vote by 23 percentage points.
