How Cosmopolitanism Functions in the Book
In the Western tradition of philosophy, cosmopolitanism is a philosophical idea that goes back to the Greeks. It says we should identify as citizens of the world rather than exclusively with our immediate local group or local tradition. And in the context of the book, I make the point that there being multiple human traditions that don't have to agree with each other. This is really the context within which we should see the science Buddhism dialogue and the science meditation conversation.
