The Evolution of Time and Space
Schopenhauer thinks there are three great thinkers and a bunch of imitators who deny teleology. He accuses them of doing so for theological reasons. And I think that it's in line with Darwinian thinking, which is that random selection and variation is what produces change rather than top-down ordering principles.
