Marina Abramovich was born in Belgrade the capital of Yugoslavia on November 30th 1946 a country that doesn't exist. Her parents were war heroes they fought against the Nazis in World War II both Danica and Voio were partisans of the Yugoslavian Communist Party their first meeting reads like a classic war-torn romance novel Marina's mother Danica was a major in the army during World War II she commanded a squad that would locate wounded partisan soldiers and bring them to safety. During one German invasion she contracted a severe case of typhus and lay unconscious among the wounded soldiers covered by a blanket. She could have easily died there if my father hadn't been such a lover of women he carried
