David Frum: The notion of change versus changelessness arises because we can see some things changing in our visual field while others do not. So that's an eternal point, which I think is the second point that I really wanted to talk about here. He thinks that if we didn't have the sense of vision, we wouldn't have any conception of the eternal. And he says phenomenology as this study of lived experience is invested in showing unlike very different from Socrates and Plato's dialogues.
