The Best Ideas Don't Win
In your paper, the hardware lottery, i think you disclaim this notion, at least to some extent. The main drive of whether your idea wins or whether it loses is whether it's compatible with both software and hardware. And we saw that with the repurposing of g ps. But even now, we see that in many ways, what has compounded is that we now have a more and more heterogeneous landscape of hardwares athes. It's also harder and harder to deplor different types of hardware because the soft ware laye matters more and more.
